| Overview: |
| Construction began in March to widen Bunker Hill Road to four-lanes between IH-10 and Briar Branch and to three-lanes through the residential area to Long Point Road to improve traffic flow. Additional storm sewers to be located north of Briar Branch will help reduce the threat of residential flooding by channeling rain runoff to the existing drainage ditch. The project will also include six foot sidewalks and irrigation for the enhanced landscaping. |
| Accomplishments: |
The south side of Bunker Hill is taking shape from Pine Lake to IH-10. Employees from Conrad Construction have completed the pouring of Pine Lake at Bunker Hill. Conrad crews have also installed a 12 inch water line at Westview, excavated the detour right-turn lane on the south side of Bunker Hill between Oak Point and Westview and setup the temporary traffic signal poles at Long Point Drive. |
| Upcoming tasks November 24-28, 2008: |
The upcoming tasks for the week of November 24 to 28 include the pouring of new concrete between Pine Lake and Cedardale in front of the Westview Elementary School. Workers are also expected to complete the sidewalk on the west side of Bunker Hill between the Briar Branch Bridge and Pine Lake. Plus, if weather permits, striping will take place on Pine Lake and the section of Bunker Hill between IH-10 and Briar Branch Bridge. This is significant because it will allow traffic to use two lanes in either direction on Bunker Hill between the Briar Branch Bridge and IH-10.
